In order to implement Golder’s technical solutions on site, GAIA provides a variety of applied environmental services that fall into four broad categories:

• Waste management services including landfill construction, management and closure; landfill gas management; and leachate collection, management and treatment.
• Contaminated site remediation services including in situ and ex situ treatment for contaminated soils and disposal; reactive barriers; soil heating; air sparging and soil vapour extraction; LNAPL/DNAPL vacuum enhanced recovery; contaminated water treatment; design and assembly of environ­mental systems; excavation; and dredging of contaminated sediments.
• Turnkey industrial decommissioning capability including abatement of hazardous building materials; PCB removal and destruction; chemical waste reduction and disposal; demolition; solid waste recycling; and remediation of contaminated soils and groundwater.
• Water resources management services including debris flow mitigation; water resources management and hydrology; fish screens/water intake; revegetation and riparian planting; habitat compensation work; habitat creation and restoration; and wetland creation.
