Soil Heating

In order to facilitate in situ remediation of low-permeability silty or clayey soils impacted by hydrocarbon contamination, GAIA and Golder have developed a specific expertise using ground heating and vacuum extraction.

Contaminants adsorbed onto soil particles can be mobilized through the use of heat and removed using vacuum recovery.

The added capital costs of this combined system are often recovered during the operation and maintenance phase due to the higher efficiency of the system and reduced time scale to effectively remediate.
