River Engineering

Natural watercourses are dynamic systems with complex processes and factors that influence erosion and sedimentation. GAIA’s approach is to implement solutions that are compatible with local natural erosion-resistant regimes, and to control sediment disturbance at the source to avoid harming the aquatic environment.

GAIA’s construction experience covers most aspects of water resource and river engineering, including flood control works, channel stabilization, erosion control systems, scour prevention, bank erosion protection, diversification of channel hydraulics to support bio-diversity, debris flow mitigation measures to safeguard residential properties and engineered fish-exclusion screens at water intakes. Utilizing Golder’s resources, GAIA can also provide a diverse range of complementary design services, including bathymetric and geophysical survey, environmental impact assessment, risk assessment, geotechnical assessment, hydraulic analysis, flood routing and environmental management planning.
