Dewatering

GAIA has the capability to design, build and operate innovative groundwater dewatering control systems. By integrating Golder’s in-house hydrogeology and civil engineering capabilities with GAIA’s practical approach to dewatering, we can custom-design effective site-specific solutions that meet our client’s objectives.

These solutions may include:

  • Deep wells
  • Vacuum wells
  • Wellpoints
  • Eductors, or
  • Electro-osmosis

These are installed either as stand alone systems or in conjunction with other groundwater control measures such as:

  • Ground freezing
  • Grouting
  • Deep soil mixed walls
  • Sheet pile walls
  • Caisson walls
  • Slurry walls, or
  • Diaphragm walls

The guiding design criteria for all our systems are ease of optimization, operation and maintenance, use of off-the-shelf components whenever possible, and cost. We also recommend and incorporate the appropriate real-time monitoring programs and redundancy into the systems to mitigate against the consequences of a full or partial system shut down.
